Tadiran Communications, a subsidiary of Elbit Systems, has signed an $18 million contract to supply tactical communications equipment to a country in Africa. Deliveries are scheduled for 2007.
The tactical communications sets handle battlefield voice and data transmissions over medium and long distances.
Tadiran Communications VP for marketing, Amos Weizman, said the order was for a new client in Africa. He added that this was the third African country buying the company`s products for standard use by its military.
Yesterday, Elbit Systems subsidiary Cyclone Aviation Products announced a $19 million contract with Boeing to supply structural components for F-15s.
Tadiran Communications, listed on the Tel Aviv 100 index, has risen 3.3% since January to reach a market cap of NIS1.88 billion.
