On 10 March, e-commerce retailers, entrepreneurs and businesses invite South Africans to celebrate online shopping. Yes, e-commerce now has its own day!
eCommerce Day aims to get South African consumers even more comfortable and excited to shop online. Watch out as industry leaders stand together on this day by offering great online promotions, events and activities by following the handle: #eCommerceDay2021.
“This initiative couldn’t have come at a better time,” says Domains.co.za CEO Wayne Diamond. “The global pandemic has made consumers more open to the idea of turning to the Internet when buying anything from everyday goods to specialised items. It is also a way to continue to support local retailers and brands.”
While e-commerce is an excellent way for consumers to save time and add convenience to their busy schedules, its effect on the local economy is even more noteworthy.
“Not only has e-commerce given retailers another way to sell and circumvent additional losses, but it has also given many South African entrepreneurs a reason to dream. The new online stores and e-commerce initiatives that were born during the various lockdown levels are nothing other than ingenious.”
Domains.co.za will also be participating on the day and because an e-commerce Web site is only as good as the Web site hosting that powers it, the company will sell new DirectAdmin Website Hosting signups at less 10%*. The following promotional code may be used on the site on 10 March: DA10Ecom (T&Cs apply).
“We invite all South Africans to participate in this day by surfing the Internet for local online stores, buying something online or taking part in any of the events and activities hosted on the day,” Diamond adds.
