Defence to upgrade PMKeyS

CIO at the Australian Department of Defence, Greg Farr, said the department hopes to finally unveil plans for its troubled payroll and human resources (HR) system upgrade by the end of the year, reports Australian IT.

A much-needed revamp of the Personnel Management Key Solution (PMKeyS) should have started in 2006, but things didn't go according to plan for several reasons.

PMKeyS is an extremely complex environment and central to defence's entire HR management; apart from payroll, it administers employees' leave and other personnel management functions.

Healthcare provider selects UltiPro Workplace

Ambulatory clinical systems provider eClinicalWorks is using Ultimate Software's UltiPro Workplace employee self-service, recruiting, and human capital management reporting capabilities to accommodate its rapid expansion, according to Accounting Software 411.

The federal government is investing $19 billion to help doctors, hospitals, and other medical agencies convert from paper to electronic medical records, which many believe will increase the adoption rate of this technology.

eClinicalWorks is preparing to expand at an even more accelerated pace during the next two years and to manage this increase the company began searching for a new HR and payroll system last year.

Planmill Absence improves HR workflow

As an expansion to its growing Web-based business application suite, PlanMill now delivers PlanMill Absence, states SW Business.

This software solves issues of absence management, improves workflow, and reduces operational costs of companies and organisations, according to PlanMill.

When complex corporate HR systems get clogged with payroll issues related to employee absences, PlanMill offers a tool for SMEs and a low-cost solution for a large group of corporate users.
