Datatec, through its Brazilian Westcon operations, is making an initial investment of $5 million (about R33.45 million) to bring Cisco products and services to that country.
In an announcement issued today, Jens Montanana, chief executive of Datatec, says the company is bringing the full service capability to Brazil because he believes the market has the potential to grow rapidly.
He says revenue of more than $100 million (about R669 million) is being projected for the new product line over the next two years.
"This development is an important part of the group`s strategy to accelerate its business in key emerging markets and developing countries," says Montanana. "It is an important step with Cisco in this region and the group`s organic initiative to date."
The Cisco enterprise and SME solutions` distribution is being expedited by a team of 20 Cisco engineers and sales people.
