CSC, NHS Trust in outsourcing deal
IT services provider, CSC announced that it has signed a contract with Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust for a new programme of work to outsource the Trust's technology services, CBR reports.
During the seven-year agreement, with the option to extend to 10 years, CSC has the responsibility for hosting, developing and managing most of the Trust's IT and back-office processes every day.
Under the deal, CSC will perform all technological outsourcing jobs for the Trust's latest project, Zacks notes.
The company will also offer IT helpdesk, networking, infrastructure, desktop engineering, application development and support, as well as advice regarding clinically driven health informatics.
According to Consultant News, the programme has a two-stage approach. It started with a transition and stabilisation phase to move the service to CSC, which was completed earlier this summer and involved all of the Trust's IT services staff transferring to CSC.
This has been followed by a co-ordinated transformation programme, which will enhance and modernise the Trust's IT capabilities and support its scheduled move to a new electronic patient record system.
