Canon unveils Pixma printers
Canon has introduced five Pixma printers, all of which feature a new FullHD movie print function, reports Twice.
The new FullHD Movie Print function, which is compatible with HD Canon EOS and PowerShot digital cameras, enables grabbing and printing still images from segments of HD video clips stored on connected cameras.
All of the new models also include an improved Auto Photo Fix II feature to further enhance images, while Easy-PhotoPrint EX software allows users to easily find and use images.
HP drives on-demand publishing
Computer maker Hewlett-Packard is expanding its fledgling print-on-demand magazine business globally as it sees a multi-billion-dollar opportunity to reinvent magazine publishing, states the Vancouver Sun.
HP will offer publishers and consumers the chance to have one-off magazines printed and delivered to readers. A few similar services exist for book publishing.
HP's service, called MagCloud, has helped revive photo-journalism magazine Life, which had stopped publishing in print form but now offers special issues through MagCloud. It has also won business from Atlantic Monthly, among others.
Breast imaging solution for radiologists
Insight Medical Imaging has adopted the IntelePacsbreast imaging solution for its screening and diagnostic mammography studies, says the Financial Post.
Insight, a group practice of over 20 radiologists reading almost 300 000 studies yearly, offers services for X-ray, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, MRI, fluoroscopy, CT, and mammography at 13 clinics in Edmonton and the surrounding area.
An accredited member of the Canadian Association of Radiologists, Insight participates in the Alberta Breast Screening Programme and delivers screening results to referring physicians.
