Canon Europe, world leader in imaging solutions recently announced the launch of two new entry-level large format multi-function printers (MFPs) - the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF770 MFP L36 and imagePROGRAF iPF670 MFP L24.

The new devices offer convenient print, scan and copy functionality to small businesses in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), manufacturing, and education markets.

Developed for offices where space is at a premium, both the iPF770 MFP L36 and iPF670 MFP L24 feature a robust, compact design with a minimal footprint. Equipped with a 36-inch scanner, the iPF770 MFP L36 is an ideal copying solution for architecture, engineering and contracting businesses with mid-to-low volume print needs. The iPF670 MFP L24 comes with a 24-inch scanner and was designed for small businesses and educators that need the tools to easily scan, copy and print documents. Both devices feature a simple user interface, requiring little to no prior experience and minimal interaction before and during use.

SingleSensor technology delivers perfect colour consistency and accurate images, while the five-colour pigment and dye ink system with a reformulated colour spectrum assures exceptional image quality. Combined with the image accuracy of the L36 and L24, both devices enable businesses of all sizes to improve productivity and output with a single multi-functional machine that's both versatile and accessible.

In markets such as construction, civil engineering, manufacturing, government and municipal offices, MFPs have become regular tools in the daily workflow, thanks to their efficiency and high scanned-image quality.

In line with customer demand for convenient and cost-effective solutions, the new MFPs have been specifically designed to enhance the productivity of smaller businesses that may have previously thought MFPs were too complicated for their needs.

Other key benefits of the new devices include scan-to-network and scan-to-USB functionality, minimising the need to authorise jobs via a connected PC. Scan and copy modes can also be adjusted from Draft to Best to support the printing of technical drawings, large format posters or teaching materials. Meanwhile simple image adjustment settings are available for computer-aided design (CAD) environments that require more detailed prints.

"There will always be a demand for scanning and copying drawings in CAD operations," comments Alex Ryan, Print Business Development Manager for BIG, Canon South Africa. "Our aim at Canon is to understand the specific requirements and pain points of our customers and respond with effective solutions that meet all of their needs. The new imagePROGRAF models are specifically developed for smaller businesses that want all the functionality and flexibility of a robust multi-function device, combined with real simplicity and a compact size. They provide the tools to work collaboratively, making the reviewing and sharing of documents more efficient and straightforward - a particularly important factor in the AEC industry. Versatile, efficient and genuinely user-friendly, the new devices demonstrate our commitment to providing businesses with the most appropriate solution for their needs."

The imagePROGRAF iPF770 MFP L36 and iPF670 MFP L24 will be available in South Africa later this year.
