Douglas Ramaphosa has been appointed as CEO of Bytes Healthcare Solutions (BHS), replacing Hennie du Plessis.

Du Plessis held the position of MD of BHS, but due to restructuring within Bytes Technology Group (BTG), Ramaphosa takes over as CEO and not MD.

Ramaphosa is not new to the company and was formerly MD of Bytes Specialised Solutions.

“Douglas has been exposed to the workings of Bytes Healthcare Solutions, having served on the company's board of directors in a non-executive [position] in the past. He is thus not a stranger to the company. He has participated in several company events in the past, even giving a key presentation at the company's annual awards banquet so he is not an unknown entity to the staff of Bytes Healthcare Solutions,” says BTG.

Diedre Le Hanie, CEO of Bytes Managed Services, will take over Ramaphosa's previous position as the group has merged Bytes Specialised Solutions and Bytes Managed Solutions.

“I am very excited about Bytes Healthcare Solutions,” says Ramaphosa. “My predecessor, Hennie du Plessis, did a fantastic job here during his tenure and he left the company in great shape, with a well-organised professional team and a dynamic strategy that positions Bytes Healthcare Solutions well for a successful future.”

Ramaphosa will look to expand the international operations and will also capitalise on opportunities presented by the introduction of national healthcare insurance.

“We are closely monitoring developments of the national healthcare insurance with a view to playing a role in providing solutions that will contribute to its implementation and administration,” explains Ramaphosa.
