BPM streamlines soldier rehabilitation

Federal systems integrator CollabraLink Technologies and business process management (BPM) vendor Appian are jointly developing a specialised BPM application to streamline the delivery of rehabilitative care for US soldiers injured in the line of duty, writes InformationWeek.

The application, called Wounded Warrior, is meant to make the process for registering, diagnosing, and rehabilitating injured soldiers at military Warrior Transition Units (WTU) more efficient, according to the companies.

The Army created WTUs in 2007 in the wake of a scandal involving neglect of injured soldiers undergoing rehabilitation at the Walter Reed Army Medical Centre and other veterans' hospitals.

Pegasystems plans expansion

Pegasystems, a player in BPM software solutions, says it plans to expand its capabilities for the communications and media market with its new Communications Foundation, which is based on its SmartBPM solution, states TMCnet.

Pegasystems' Communications Foundation creates a persuasive new way for communications service providers of all types such as wireless, cable, wireline, broadband, convergent, and xVNO, for considerably accelerating the development of powerful applications.

The foundation provides the users with a pre-built, industry-standard data model which can be immediately leveraged in creation of applications with Pegasystems' SmartBPM.

Newgen debuts CTS

Newgen Software Technologies, a BPM and enterprise content management provider, has released a Cheque Truncation System (CTS) in tune with RBI 'CTS - 2010 standard', says India Online Limited.

It aims at fully automating data extraction, verification and fraud detection in the CTS environment. The new specification standardises the layout format of the cheques to a much greater degree than earlier and also includes various cheque security features.

The set of minimum security features not only ensure uniformity across all cheque forms issued by banks in the country, but also help in scrutinising cheques of drawer's banks in an image-based processing scenario.
