Local Softline ACCPAC business partner, AccTech Systems, has been contracted to install ACCPAC`s suite of end-to-end solutions at local medical device distributor, Baroque Medical.
Baroque will implement ACCPAC Financial & Distribution modules with AccTech eWorkflow procurement and business intelligence in phase one and CRM in phase two of the project.
"Our stock is ordered from various offshore suppliers and is delivered to our head office in Johannesburg. From there it is tracked and traced per lot and serial number as it moves to other Baroque branches in Cape Town and Durban. The products are then placed at various hospitals as consignment stock. It is vital to track the stock throughout our entire distribution channel," says Danie Ferreira, general manager - finance and administration at Baroque Medical.
"ACCPAC meets this requirement using the advanced functionality provided in the stock location and traceability modules," adds Keith Fenner, director of solutions and business development at AccTech Systems. "With ACCPAC`s stock transfer utility, Baroque will be able to transfer stock directly from location to location as well as transit shipments and transit receipts, all made simple with AccTech Bar Coding for ACCPAC."
"A key feature of AccTech eWorkflow 5.3 is that it is a true modular solution," says Tertius Zitzke, managing director of AccTech Systems. "Baroque opted for our procurement module as it will enable the company to progress to a paperless requisition process and manage purchase authorisations through predefined workflows."
"By implementing ACCPAC in this manner, Baroque will increase efficiency and be able to monitor backorder consignments against normal backorders as well as stock holdings per hospital and per warehouse," says Ferreira. "This will allow us to meet all FDA and supplier requirements, as tracking stock will become less painful and reporting will be vastly improved by ACCPAC Insight`s advanced reporting capabilities."
