BAE Systems subsidiary selects Infor solutions to improve design and efficiency

Land Systems OMC, a BAE Systems company and a leading manufacturer of mine-protected and armoured vehicles, has selected Infor Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) LN and Infor Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) 8An to improve product design and production efficiency. These solutions will help to provide more accurate product configuration, reducing the costly need to retrofit products and resulting in better service and faster delivery times for customers.

Softworx, an EOH company and distributor of Infor in sub-Saharan Africa, will provide the professional services consulting and implementation for the project. The quality control, product configuration and service management features of Infor's solutions were also important selection factors.

Gert Pretorius, Engineering and Business Improvements Director, Land Systems OMC, says that another key factor in the selection was that Infor's people showed a depth of knowledge and experience.

"Our operations are complex due to the development of new models and custom projects in the same production environment as our existing product range. We must control many engineering and configuration changes while maintaining stringent levels of reporting to satisfy requirements for progress payments from our international customers.
