AIA wants industry e-business standards

The American Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and UK's A|D|S have announced global standards for trading partner and electronic collaboration agreements between prime contractors and suppliers, reports Defense Industry Daily.

It's a small step toward a broader AIA vision, which includes a full portfolio of e-business related initiatives ranging from recommended standards and frameworks, to candidates, to initiatives being monitored by AIA.

The goal of having all key participants and trading partners able to exchange information relative to product design, business relationships, transactions, and product support across an information backbone which is open and accessible to all, is not unique to the aerospace industry.

DOD e-business systems get upgrade

Catapult Technology will provide a range of IT services to the US Defence Department (DOD) under a 30-month, $27-million e-business enhancement and management project, states Washington Technology.

The DOD Washington Headquarters Services awarded the contract to Catapult through the Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services government-wide acquisition contract.

It calls for Catapult to provide a full range of systems enhancements as well as administration, operations and maintenance, database and Web services in support of the Washington Headquarters Services.

Aviva unveils secure online service

Aviva's Web site for independent financial advisors (IFAs) has introduced a system that will save time by making it quicker and easier for advisers to work with their clients, according to Financial Times Adviser

Billy Burnside, head of e-business for Aviva says: "Over the last 12 months we have been talking and listening to feedback from advisers to understand how they want to interact with us online.”

Improvements include a personalised homepage with direct access to information about an IFA's new business pipeline.
