Health products marketer and distributor AHN Pharma has contracted 4most, a Logic Group company, to supply, implement and support a SAP Business One accounting and ERP solution.
Headquartered in Woodmead, Sandton, AHN Pharma sells and markets niche respiratory, allergy, neurology, cardiology and immunology pharmaceutical products in South Africa, and to Anglophone countries in sub-Saharan Africa, including Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania as well as Mozambique and Angola.
Alex Viviers, sales director at 4most, said the full implementation of SAP Business One for AHN Pharma will be conducted in two phases. The first phase, already under way, covers financials, (general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash book and order entry) stock, CRM, workflow and batch tracking. The workflow functionality includes approval procedures and alerts.
The second phase will take SAP Business One into the production areas of AHN Pharma.
“When AHN Pharma approached us for an accounting and ERP software solution, a few standalone systems without real-time integration and requiring manual capturing in order to update the accounting system, were in place,” said Viviers. “Clearly, the business will derive significant benefits from ERP functionality as provided by SAP Business One.”
The SAP Business One solution will be networked on a LAN, and thin client services will be implemented so that executives and sales staff that travel a lot will be able to connect to the system from anywhere in South Africa.
It is scheduled to go live in January next year.
AHN Pharma also has a full sales, marketing and regulatory facility that monitors developments in the respiratory, allergy, neurology and immunology fields.
