Absa Merchants Services has implemented Pastel Evolution to provide a quicker, more accurate and efficient service to its clients. The application was customised around Absa Merchant`s specialised invoicing, debtor management and reconciliation requirements.
Pieter Botha, GM of Absa Merchants Services, says the new solution solves the problem of obtaining information from the bank`s standard financial system and was also easily customised around the Absa data format and its manner of working. The previous accounting systems required manual capturing of new data downloaded from the mainframe. This process has been automated, allowing staff to get on with more important tasks.
Absa Merchants Services can now determine which merchant payments are late, check payment histories and run a reconciliation to quickly determine which processes to follow in dealing with debtors. The installation and required customisations were undertaken with the help of a Pastel Evolution Business Partner, who ensured the system produced reconciliations, invoices and so forth, in the format Absa requires and containing all the pertinent information and data formats.
"Pastel Evolution is much more user-friendly than the previous system. The integrated CRM functionality also provides us with a full document management solution. E-mails, memos and other forms of communication are stored in the system, with all information linked to a particular customer account. This builds up a history unique to every customer that we can call up for reference purposes at any time," says Botha.
Dramatic enhancements have also been made to the system`s performance and capabilities. "The solution has successfully addressed our needs, yet also offers flexibility and scalability to accommodate future requirements," Botha adds.
