The Basix Group has contracted SAP Business One solutions provider 4most to supply, implement, commission, and support an accounting and ERP software solution for its Johannesburg headquarters in Booysens.
The Basix Group addresses specific markets in turnkey electronic security solutions, intelligent transport solutions, x-ray scanning, fibre-optic communications and control rooms, and has established BBBEE companies to specialise within these specific fields of expertise.
The SAP Business One solution will assist the group across the board in streamlining the sales, accounting and operational processes, to ensure it maintains its edge in this demanding market and continues to provide complete customer satisfaction.
The SAP solution will deliver full ERP functionality, including the Enprise project and job costing module, financials, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, cashbook, order entry, stock, sales, purchasing, CRM, MRP, workflow, alerts and the HR module.
Alex Viviers, Sales Director at 4most, said the Enprise module, which fully integrates with the SAP Business One ERP system, will drive all project and job costing requirements for the Basix Group.
“The solution will be accessed on a LAN in Gauteng at the Johannesburg head office. However, the next step is to roll out the solution to serve the regional offices in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, and KwaZulu-Natal to remotely access the main server.”
As the Basix Group of companies is project-driven, it provides a large range of solutions for both government and the private sector. The SAP Business One solution will centrally control financials, workflow, inventory, CRM, MRP, supported by the Enprise Project and Job costing module. This will in turn streamline the operations and provide better financial control and business planning.
“The solution will meet the Basix Group's needs for real-time information from the time a contact is first entered into the integrated CRM system,” adds Viviers.
It will create the job or project, fully integrate the inventory per job, purchasing per job and/or sub-job, costing per job and/or phase, invoice per job and per phase within the job and provide full ERP project and job costing. This will ensure real-time information and full integration into the financial module up to a GL level on SAP Business One.
The solution is scheduled to go live at the end of October.
