Saab, the unlisted R1.5 billion turnover telecommunications and defence company, has appointed Riaz Salojee as the new CEO for its South African operations, which includes a range of companies in the Grintek stable.
He comes from a position at Saab International, where he was responsible for SA and other countries in southern Africa.
"As president of the company, Riaz Saloojee will serve as a cohesive force for large parts of Saab's operations in SA," a company statement says. "He will report to Dan-Ake Enstedt, executive vice-president and head of the defence and security solutions business segment."
Saab employs 1 400 people in SA, and its defence business has a turnover of R800 million.
