SA`s Competition Tribunal will meet tomorrow (Wednesday) to decide on Saudi Telecom`s intent to acquire shares in Oger Telecom.
The merger, which has already received approval from the Competition Commission, will see Saudi Telecom take joint control of Oger Telecom.
Saudi Telecom does not have operations in SA. However, Oger Telecom is a shareholder in local operator Cell C.
Oger Telecom has also been pursuing Telkom for a stake in the local fixed-line operation. The company has stated it would like to combine the company`s fixed-line assets with that of Cell C.
