Saab Grintek sells division to Atio

Saab Grintek has sold its enterprise division to ICT services provide Atio for an undisclosed amount.

The deal, which has already gained Competition Commission approval, is effective immediately.

Saab Grintek CEO Makhup Nyama says the sale is part of the company`s strategy to consolidate and streamline operations to focus on its core business.

Meanwhile, Atio CEO Chris Van der Sande says the deal consolidates Atio`s own position as a Nortel reseller and enhances its portfolio in voice recording and workforce optimisation. In these segments it will now also represent Nice Systems.

"We are excited about the conclusion of this transaction as it significantly increases our customer base and presence, both locally, as well as within the broader sub-Saharan African territory," he explains.

Saab Grintek`s 35 employees in the enterprise division will be incorporated into Atio`s offices in Rivonia, Johannesburg and Century City in Cape Town.

"This will ensure service continuity for our customers and further grow the capacity and competency of our team in the Atio interactive division," says Van der Sande.
