Premier Internet service provider (ISP) DataPro has identified enterprises within the SMME bracket as a vital secondary growth market.
Says Douglas Reed, MD of DataPro: "A lot of corporates, worldwide, are going through a process of unbundling, leading to a stagnation in hiring new staff - or, in the worst case scenario, a shedding of staff and access resources. This and other economically contributing factors have lead to the SMME market`s staggering growth over the last 18 months.
"Yet another influence is the government`s focus on empowerment and the resulting stimulation of small and medium enterprise. This is most certainly also a contributing factor that, if managed carefully, will not only lead to future growth but also sustain this upwards trend. When considering the large number of smaller and medium enterprises that comprise the South African economy and their contribution to the economy, this is certainly the market to cultivate.
"While the corporate market is collapsing pyramid structures and reducing head counts, the SMME market, in some sectors, has entered a huge growth cycle. While the emerging corporate market, and the corporate market, will remain our main focus, we are certainly targeting some of our service offerings - and marketing efforts - at the mid-tier, or SMME market."
DataPro believes it is well-positioned to grow its SMME and customer base by offering solutions and services that address their "real business needs".
