Kaspersky's channel booms

An aggressive reseller recruitment drive has resulted in "explosive" channel growth for Kaspersky in New Zealand, according to Resellernews.

Kaspersky channel manager Ivan Rasquinha says new reseller signups have averaged 20 to 30 a month since November last year, adding that a number of significant, high-value network security projects are now in the pipeline through the channel.

This growth is as a result of the "aggressive reseller recruiting drive" Microbe embarked on after setting up as Kaspersky's sole local representative last November, says Rasquinha. "Before there was no local office - everything was run from Sydney."

Brightpoint distributes HTC

HTC has appointed Brightpoint Great Britain as its sole distributor, says TMCnet.

The announcement comes as a result of Brightpoint's recent acquisition of the wireless distribution business of Hugh Symons Telecom in the UK.

This agreement is part of a wider-reaching global master agreement that HTC and Brightpoint entered into in October 2007.

CDC wins Toshiba award

Collins Distributing Company (CDC) has won Toshiba America Business Solutions' inaugural 2007 "Distributor of the Year" award, states BusinessWire.

Presented to CDC national sales representative Brian Stevens at the 2008 National Dealer Meeting, held from 3 to 5 March at the Four Seasons Resort Aviara in North San Diego, California.

CDC became an authorised Toshiba distributor in 1999 and currently sells more than 1 500 Toshiba units annually.
