Clem Sunter will take to the stage at this year's ITWeb IT Confidence Conference, taking place on 10 March at The Forum, in Bryanston.

Known for his High Road/Low Road scenarios from the 1980s, Sunter, former chairman of the Anglo American Chairman's Fund, and an influential speaker, will give a presentation on scenario planning.

The day-long event will focus on 2008's most dominant trends, events, ideas and developments, with an eye towards how these will shape 2009 and beyond. It aims to be a platform for analysts as well as private and public companies to present their perspectives and invite discussion.

Chris Hart, chief economist at Investment Solutions; Kim Merideth, CEO of Spectrum Solutions; Rudolf Pretorius from Treacle Venture Capital; and a senior representative from Grant Thornton South Africa will also speak.

Topics will include an outline of what the ICT industry can expect from the South African economy, how to manage the impending credit crunch, as well as maximising sales and margin in an environment of customers interested in reducing overheads and spending.
