HP appoints new EMEA VP

Johannesburg, 14 Oct 2008

HP has named Steen Lomholt-Thomsen as VP and GM of HP Software's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Lomholt-Thomsen joins HP from IBM, where he spent 10 years in its software division. Most recently, he served as VP of IBM's software division in the Nordics, responsible for sales, marketing and services, HP says in a media statement.

“During his successful tenure at IBM, Lomholt-Thomsen also held various senior leadership roles, including VP of IBM Tivoli software in Northern Europe.”

In his new position, Lomholt-Thomsen will be responsible for maximising HP Software's profit and revenue growth in the EMEA region. Other tasks include extending its market leadership, driving go-to-market activities and delivering customer service.

Prior to IBM, Lomholt-Thomsen worked at NCR's retail and financial group for six years, where he was responsible for its software retail application business.

"Steen brings to HP a solid track record of driving profitable growth for global enterprise software companies,” says Oliver Fortuin, MD of HP SA. “His extensive background and knowledge of the system and service management market will be a tremendous asset for our customers.”

Lomholt-Thomsen holds a master's degree in business administration from Copenhagen Business School.
