Local national lottery operator Gidani, and its Greek partner Intralot, have awarded a R45 million, seven-year contract to JSE-listed Faritec.
The deal sees Faritec supplying the lottery system with hardware, software and maintenance. It also includes the building of two data centres to replicate the environment required to run the lottery.
Since the re-launch of the Lotto, on 5 October last year, Faritec says its solution has delivered 100% uptime, and approximately 40 million tickets have been sold.
At time of publication this morning, neither Gidani nor Faritec had responded to ITWeb's requests for further information.
