Faritec, Vodacom shift relationship to new level

With the conclusion of its latest set of financial statements, Faritec has proudly announced its relationship with Vodacom has reached a new level and that the telco giant has become Faritec's largest single customer.

Dilley Naidoo, Customer Sales Group Executive at Faritec, says his company's relationship with Vodacom has been steadily building over the past decade. "And this year, the revenues from our relationship with Vodacom surpassed the R100 million mark by a healthy margin," he adds.

This milestone, he explains, was reached through Faritec's efforts in transforming its relationship with Vodacom to one that epitomises partnership.

"We have moved far beyond the traditional customer/supplier relationship so many IT companies have with their customers. Today we play an intrinsic role in Vodacom's IT planning, are involved at a strategic level in vetting new technologies and assisting them with choosing the technologies that best suit their needs.

"We are also a vital role player in Vodacom's risk management activities," he adds. "We are for all intents and purposes the company's trusted advisor in all thing technology-centric and act as an extension of their internal IT department."

Alvin Rajoo, Director of the Billing and IT Group at Vodacom, echoes Naidoo's sentiments:

"Faritec is a trusted advisor to Vodacom and engages with us at the highest strategic levels. We have a 10-year relationship with them that speaks volumes about their abilities and the level of trust we have in them," he says.

"We see them as an intrinsic contributor to our strategic IT decision-making. Over the coming years, we see our relationship with Faritec strengthening even further and them continuing to play a vital role in our IT strategy," he adds.

Naidoo says the trust that Vodacom has in Faritec has been built through the company's commitment to offering a holistic IT services presence to Vodacom as opposed to simply supplying them with the technology components they require to keep driving efficiencies into their business for over a decade.

"We believe this is a vital differentiator for us in the South African market, since customers are looking to their IT partners to become partners as opposed to suppliers.

"Through our ability to play this role for Vodacom, there should be no doubt in any customer's mind that we're capable of providing the same level of expertise and service to other customers," he concludes.
