The State IT Agency's (SITA's) soon to be appointed permanent CEO is likely to be a surprise to the market, say sources close to the organisation.
The agency, along with public service and administration minister Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, will announce its new CEO later this morning.
According to a source, the person taking the position is a retired industry veteran who is familiar to SITA. Additionally, the person assuming the top spot is not an empowered candidate.
"He is white. The black candidates that the board hoped to secure were ruled too expensive, or quite simply did not want the job," he explains.
ITWeb will publish a follow-up story later this morning.
