Datatec subsidiaries Logicalis Group and Westcon Group have made acquisitions totalling $10.85 million.
This morning Datatec said in a statement to the JSE that Logicalis had bought, for $6.2 million, the outstanding 20.04% shareholding in Logicalis South America that it did not already own.
The announcement followed a statement last night to the effect that Westcon had acquired Cernet of America and a related Mexican company, Cermet Tecnologia en Telecommunicaciones, for $4.65 million.
Logicalis South America, a provider of integrated ICT solutions, has offices in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.
Cernet, a value-added distributor, reported earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of about $1 million for the 12 months to end-December last year and the company has net assets of about $1 million.
Westcon recorded revenue of $2.3 billion in the year to February, while Logicalis's revenue amounted to $693 million. Datatec reported revenue of $3.2 billion for the period.
