JSE-listed IT solutions company Faritec has secured a five-year IT outsource contract with freight and logistics company Bridge Shipping.
The deal comes as part of Bridge Shipping's move to upgrade its systems, improve processes, increase uptime and reduce system failures.
The contract - valued upwards of R12 million - sees Faritec take over the company's entire IT function.
Additionally, Faritec will replace Bridge Shipping's server environment, implementing IBM blade servers to increase the resiliency of the company's hardware component.
These will be used as platform for the roll-out of SAP Business One as Bridge Shipping's core business and financial management application suite, says Faritec.
