Shareholders of AltX-listed DataPro Group have approved the change of the company's name to Vox Telecom.
Early last month, DataPro said the move would bring the company's image in line with its intent to be seen as an alternative telecommunications operator.
At the time of its 2004 listing, DataPro was an Internet service provider.
Group CEO Doug Reed explains: "Although DataPro is well known as an investor brand, we want to reinforce in the minds of the investment community and customers alike that we are evolving into a hybrid telco that can serve all their voice and data needs."
The company will continue to trade as DataPro on the alternative exchange until 23 July, after which it will trade as Vox Telecom. Since the beginning of the year, its shares have climbed over 315% to Friday's close of R3.55.
