Mobius continues to lead document management pack

Mobius, the predominant provider of total content management (TCM) solutions, has once again achieved pole position in Gartner`s "Magic Quadrant for IDARS" (Integrated Document Archive and Retrieval System) study.

The research, which assesses vendors` vision and ability to execute, places Mobius at the top of the Leaders quadrant. The Magic Quadrant is divided into Leaders, Challengers, Niche Players and Visionaries.

June Julyan, Mobius product manager of Bateleur Software Solutions, says Gartner has rated Mobius in the leadership quadrant for the past 12 years. "Mobius`s leadership position is unmatched, and it`s gratifying to earn the appropriate recognition from respected analyst firms like Gartner," she says. Bateleur Software Solutions is the official South African representative of Mobius.

According to the Gartner report, Mobius leads because of its scalability, platform support and strong execution across multiple IDARS applications including report distribution, bill presentment and customer self-service.

In addition, the diversification of its products in 2002 enabled Mobius to gain workflow, Web content management, integrated document management (IDM), digital asset management and records management capabilities.

"Historically a leader in IDARS, Mobius plans to enter the comprehensive content management market. This decision confirms Gartner`s research that IDARS is part of most enterprises` content management plans," the report states.

Mobius`s ViewDirect TCM solution manages all the content that supports both internal and outward-facing applications. It is built on a content repository that supports all enterprise content - in any format, from any source - and makes it available for real-time Web delivery and to support business processes.

"ViewDirect TCM is simple to implement, easy to use and scales to grow with the business," Julyan says. "It supports volumes from a few thousand to billions of pages per month."

The product delivers a single, integrated solution for Web content management, document archiving and retrieval, e-workflow and e-presentment and payment.

"ViewDirect TCM eliminates the fragmented information views that result from multiple, incompatible systems," Julyan points out. "It improves customer service and self-service by delivering personalised customer information."
