IT SETA to announce constitution amendments

The Information Systems Electronics and Telecommunications Technologies` (ISETT) SETA is to make public the details of its new constitution as soon as amendments have been finalised.

This follows the SETA`s AGM last week, at which amendments to the constitution were debated and a new board was elected. The amendments were in line with the SETA`s aim to improve communications with stakeholders.

The board member credited with kick-starting the new drive to improve industry communications, Thabo Mpama, was unanimously appointed as chairman at the AGM, with Innocentius Makola as deputy chairman.

The following nominees were elected as the SETA`s new board members:

Organised business:

Bill Doyle, At Louw (electronics) Naas Mqoqi, Lourens Erasmus, Gary Johnson and John Noble (telecommunications), Adrian Schofield, Jacob Rachidi, Skip Franzen, Ivan Lipszich and Annette van der Laan (IT)

Organised labour:

Lesalea Chiloane, Johnny Ndlovu, Luther Lebelo and Norman Maluleke (Communication Workers Union)

Godfrey Williams and Abraham Tebeila (National Union of Metalworkers of SA)

Pierre Wessels (SALSTAFF) Phil Riley, Peter Waker, Chris Guy (Computer Society of SA)

Nkumah Kgagudi, Edward Thobejane and Jack Mabapa (MEWUSA)

Government:

Alan Hirsch (Department of Trade and Industry) and Phakamile Pongwana (Department of Labour).

Special Interest Groups:

Khaya Dlukulu, Velaphi Mabunda (Black IT Forum) and Eddie Funde (South African Communications Forum).
