Addition of Symantec's Norton products rounds out Phoenix security offering

Specialist publishing and distribution house Phoenix Distribution has further strengthened its position as South Africa's channel leader in the security space, with the addition of Symantec to its extensive range of security brands. The strategic partnership involves the distribution of Symantec's Norton portfolio of award-winning consumer products for individual users, home offices and small businesses into Phoenix Distribution's well-established retail and channel networks.

Norton protects consumers across all aspects of their digital lives. Norton provides a range of security solutions, including technologies for PCs and mobile devices, live tech support services and online backup. Through this partnership, consumers can now purchase core security products, including Norton 360, Norton Internet Security, and Norton AntiVirus at various retail outlets across South Africa.

"We excel in delivering solutions and products that address risks to security, availability, compliance and performance. The addition of the Norton portfolio to our strong security portfolio will cement our position as the channel's one-stop security shop, and will ensure that our customers can obtain the right solutions for their needs," says Simon Campbell-Young, CEO of Phoenix Distribution.

The agreement with Symantec underlines Phoenix Distribution's strategy to develop its influence in this sector. The company has embarked on a long-term strategic plan to develop its security distribution business, while continuously searching for cross-selling advantages and solutions offerings for its reseller and retailer channels.

"We are very happy with this new distribution agreement with Symantec," says Campbell-Young. "It rounds out our offering in terms of security software offerings and will enable us to create synergies with other solutions in our portfolio. In the coming months, we will focus very strongly on growing and enhancing retail opportunities as well as an increased focus on sales and pre-sales support for our reseller channel."
