Kerridge Computer Company South Africa has formed a strategic alliance with DaimlerChrysler SA (DCSA) for the implementation of the Kerridge system throughout its franchised dealer network.
This strategy forms part of Daimler Chrysler`s worldwide use of Kerridge`s Autoline Dealer Management System.
Autoline is a modular management system which offers integrated financial, marketing and administration features and operates on a Windows platform.
Kerridge says the Autoline system has been evaluated by DCSA and many of the customised features developed for the German parent company will be utilised locally.
According to Kerridge, standardising on a global system brings numerous advantages, including centralised marketing databases, integration with local and global manufacturer systems, a common platform for all dealers and many other interfaces that will streamline interaction between the customer, dealer and manufacturer.
Extensive planning has gone into the design and layout of the system through workshops involving DCSA, Kerridge and the dealer representative committee to determine the systems requirements for the local market.
Autoline is being rolled out in Europe and Asia with the local roll-out commencing in the first half of 2001, with approximately 100 dealerships and 2 500 users to be completed by 2003.
